 Filament v5.10.2: What's New
----------------------------

Released on 13 October 2026 by Dan Harrin, Filament v5.10.2 is a substantial patch release that touches nearly every corner of the framework. The headline themes are **accessibility improvements**, **memory-leak fixes**, and a handful of quality-of-life features.

---

### Accessibility Improvements

This release contains one of the most focused accessibility pushes the project has seen in a single patch. Key changes include:

- **Date picker keyboard focus and accessibility** repaired so keyboard-only users can navigate the custom date picker reliably.
- **Select keyboard focus and accessibility** fixed, ensuring screen readers and keyboard navigation work correctly.
- **Schema tabs keyboard navigation** improved to follow ARIA tab-panel patterns.
- **RichEditor toolbar keyboard accessibility** enhanced so toolbar buttons are reachable without a mouse.
- **Global search keyboard navigation** improved for faster, more predictable keyboard-driven search.
- **Screen-reader table row reordering** added — drag-and-drop reordering is now also operable via keyboard for assistive technology users.
- **Screen-reader column manager reordering** and **KeyValue row reordering** added with the same approach.
- **Repeater and Builder reordering accessibility** improved.
- **Standalone copy accessibility and feedback** improved so copy actions announce their result to screen readers.
- **Native validation errors** now prioritise visible errors correctly.
- **Helper text and errors** are now properly associated with their fields via `aria-describedby`.

---

### Bug Fixes

Several meaningful bugs were squashed:

```php
// Previously, sorting by multiple columns did not respect the order they were passed.
// This is now fixed — columns sort in the exact order you define them.
$table->defaultSort([
    'status',
    'created_at',
]);
```

- **RTL fixes**: notification slide-in direction and details block toggle arrow direction now respect right-to-left layouts.
- **Notifications**: non-array items no longer cause errors when restoring the notifications wireable from Livewire.
- **Toggled-hidden columns**: user-selected sorting is now ignored on hidden columns, and relationship aggregates load correctly for default sort columns that are toggled hidden.
- **Disabled vs read-only form fields** are now rendered consistently.
- **Text entry sizes** are respected when `prose()` or Markdown rendering is enabled.
- **Rich editor custom blocks** now resolve correctly with rendering data.
- **Rich editor placeholders** no longer overflow their container.
- **Markdown editor preview shortcuts** are disabled to prevent conflicts.
- **Download notifications** now preserve subdirectory paths.
- **File uploads** moved to permanent storage now correctly apply public visibility.
- **Temporary upload errors** now display friendly field names instead of internal keys.
- **Transient notifications** no longer replay after concurrent Livewire requests.
- **SelectFilter indicator** now shows the option label rather than the raw title column value.
- **`allowDuplicates()` tables**: "select all" now correctly respects active search and filters.
- **State casts** are applied in a consistent order when setting state.
- **Diacritics** are ignored when searching, improving search for accented characters.

---

### New Features

- **Clearing single-selection toggle buttons** is now supported.
- **`Htmlable` navigation labels and tenant names** are supported, allowing rich HTML in sidebar labels.
- **Scoped default-action deep links** are now supported.
- **Mixed resource content and relation manager tabs** can now coexist on the same page.
- **Builder blocks and query builder attributes** can now be grouped.
- **Croatian (hr) locale** added to the date-time picker.

---

### Memory-Leak Fixes (Backported from 3.x)

Several Alpine.js / JavaScript lifecycle issues were backported:

- Color picker lifecycle cleanup on component destruction.
- Select refresh listener memory leak fixed.
- Deferred modal opens skipped after component teardown.
- Stats overview chart, notification, and chart widget resources cleaned up on destruction.

---

### Key Takeaways
