 Filament v5.10.2: What's New
----------------------------

Released on 13 October 2026 by Dan Harrin, Filament v5.10.2 is a packed patch release that touches nearly every corner of the framework. From accessibility overhauls to RTL fixes and memory-leak cleanups, here is everything you need to know before upgrading.

### Accessibility Improvements

A significant portion of this release is dedicated to making Filament panels more accessible out of the box:

- **Date picker** keyboard focus and ARIA attributes have been repaired.
- **Select fields** received a full keyboard-focus and accessibility pass.
- **Schema tabs** now follow the ARIA tab-panel keyboard navigation pattern.
- **Global search** keyboard navigation has been improved.
- **RichEditor toolbar** is now fully keyboard-accessible.
- **Repeater and Builder** reordering gained proper ARIA support.
- **Screen-reader row reordering** was added to tables, KeyValue fields, and the column manager.
- Native validation errors are now prioritised so they surface visibly to assistive technologies.
- Helper text and error messages are now correctly associated with their fields via `aria-describedby`.

### RTL Fixes

Two RTL-specific bugs were resolved:

1. Notification slide-in direction now correctly animates from the right in RTL layouts.
2. The details block toggle arrow direction and spacing are fixed for RTL.

### Memory Leak Patches (Backported from 3.x)

Several Alpine.js / JavaScript lifecycle issues were backported:

- Color picker lifecycle cleanup on component destruction.
- Select refresh listener memory leak resolved.
- Deferred modal opens are now skipped after component teardown.
- Stats overview chart, notification, and chart widget resources are cleaned up on destruction.
- Broadcast notification listeners are properly removed.

### Bug Fixes at a Glance

- Multi-column sorting now respects the order columns are passed.
- Non-array items in the notifications Livewire wireable no longer cause errors.
- `allowDuplicates()` tables now correctly apply search and filters to "select all".
- State casts are applied in a consistent order when setting form state.
- Transient notifications no longer replay after concurrent requests.
- `SelectFilter` indicator now shows the option label instead of the raw title column value.
- Relationship aggregates load correctly for toggled-hidden default sort columns.
- User-selected sorting is ignored on toggled-hidden columns.
- Disabled and read-only form fields are now visually and behaviourally consistent.
- Subdirectory paths are preserved in download notifications.
- Public visibility is correctly applied to moved file uploads.
- Friendly field names are used in temporary upload error messages.
- Markdown editor preview shortcuts are disabled to avoid conflicts.
- Rich editor custom blocks now resolve with rendering data.
- Long rich editor placeholders are contained properly.
- Diacritics are ignored when searching (e.g. `é` matches `e`).
- Text entry sizes are respected when using prose and Markdown rendering.

### New Features

```php
// Allow clearing a single-selection toggle button group
ToggleButtons::make('status')
    ->options([...])
    ->deselectable(); // new in v5.10.2
```

- **Htmlable navigation labels and tenant names** are now supported, enabling richer sidebar labels.
- **Scoped default-action deep links** let you link directly to a specific action context.
- **Mixed resource content and relation manager tabs** can now coexist on the same Edit/View page.
- **Builder blocks and query builder attributes** can now be grouped for better organisation.
- **Croatian (hr) locale** added to the date-time picker.
- Long brand labels are centred when they wrap to multiple lines.
- Tenant avatar shape is now consistent between the switcher trigger and dropdown items.

### Key Takeaways

- Upgrade is safe — this is a patch release with no breaking changes.
- Accessibility is a first-class concern in v5.x; screen readers and keyboard-only users benefit significantly.
- Several JavaScript memory leaks are resolved, improving long-running SPA-style panel sessions.
- RTL support continues to mature with two dedicated fixes.
- New grouping for Builder blocks reduces UI clutter in complex forms.
- Croatian locale support broadens internationalisation coverage.
